Sustainable Design
At Kongkarn Cafe Ratchaburi, we integrate traditional wisdom of house cooling into modern structure. Ingenuity design such as elevating areas set for human utilization up from blazing earth (or in this case; rocky silt) which is typical in tropical terrain, and incorporating open-area and tree-shade into living design; both of which happens at Kongkarn. Here, guests can be closet to nature; feel its breeze while beholds incredible natural beauty from our site.
Tiles, wood, decorative wares, old and new, are repurposed and installed here in Kongkarn in harmony, as it’s been famously penned “All that glister is not gold…”, things in its proper place, always has its use.
Cooling Design
Widespread contemporary need for air-conditioned room is common for area in the equator region, especially in the recent years. At Kongkarn, we choose multi-steps preventative designs such as water-cooling roof and non-conductive materials. As all joints and corridors connected to building are constructed from non-conductive materials i.e. wood, concrete, heat-transfer decreases significantly; while material thickness and empty space between wood planks reduce energy-transfer potential to inside building. Of course, modern material such as heat-insulated colour play a part.
Harmonious
design bridges consonance between shade and structure; making people feel more at ease.
